The American Orthodontic Society Foundation (AOSF) is an independent, tax-deductible public charity whose members are diplomates of the AOS. Established in 1995, its purpose is to promote orthodontic education and better serve patients in need.
Managed by an elected Board of Governors, the AOSF regularly sponsors a free symposium for all interested dental providers. Entitled the Dr. William E. Wyatt Sr. Distinguished Lecture Series this conference offers the latest in orthodontic techniques taught by the finest clinicians lecturing today. It is our hope that any professional with an interest in orthodontics will find these programs useful and relevant.
Community Health Smilebuilders is another important aspect of the Foundation. AOSF works with industry partners to provide their materials and services to member dental professionals who donate their time to treat the disadvantaged in their community. A simple application process provides guidance and accountability.
Gifts
Donating to the American Orthodontic Society Foundation is an opportunity to ensure continued and increased high professional standards. Donors know their gifts will provide world class quality orthodontic education and improved public health. Donations can be made at any time through the Dallas Central Office. However, pledge cards are included in annual membership packets for convenience. While the basic motivation for gifts is the desire to support charitable organizations, the US Congress has recognized the importance of such gifts and encouraged them through tax incentives. The exact consequences of a gift will vary, so donors are encouraged to consult their own tax advisers as to the tax implications of the particular gift.
Annual recognition levels for industry and individual donations are:
Sustaining ($500-$999) Achievement ($1,000-$2,999)
President's Circle ($3,000 and over)
All contributions will be recognized with a letter of appreciation from the Foundation President. Contributions in excess of $500 will receive a "Partners" plaque acknowledging their support.
