Dr. Carapezza has over 25 years of clinical experience in pediatric orthodontics,
including a successful private practice in Wayland, Massachusetts.
Shortly after establishing his practice, he identified the extreme importance of early treatment of malocclusion and his clinical achievements have brought him recognition as a lecturer in the early treatment of malocclusion.
Dr. Carapezza graduated from Brandeis University in 1960, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1965, then served two years in the United States Naval Dental Corps as a lieutenant aboard the U.S.S. Wasp. In 1969, Dr. Carapezza received his certificate from Children's Hospital in Pediatric Dentistry, during which he served as a Teaching Fellow at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Presently, Dr. Carapezza is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, teaching early treatment of malocclusion to pedodontic graduate students. He is also an associate of the New England Medical Center and previously served as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Carapezza is a contributing editor to the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry, and has published numerous articles on pediatric malocclusion in addition to being a Senior Certified Instructor for both the American Orthodontic Society and International Association of Orthodontics. He has lectured nationally on early treatment of malocclusion for general and pediatric dentists, and is the founder and director of the Institute for Growth and Development in Pediatric Dentistry.
