Susan Coffey is a Registered Dental Assistant who works with Dr. David Jackson as a chair-side assistant, as well as in helping Dr. Jackson teach his Straight-Wire Series courses. Susan understands how essential educated, capable, and motivated assistants are to a successful practice. She is a detail-oriented person who will bring her knowledge and experience to EMPOWER orthodontic assistants on all levels!

This level 2 course empowers your assistants with Advanced Ortho Techniques and knowledge.

This two-weekend ortho course will positively impact your practice’s bottom line. The program includes: understanding and placing appliances, accentuated curves in arch wires, cross arch elastics, long ligatures for anchorage and the business side of orthodontics.

 

Both sessions of this Empowered Course will run concurrently in the same hotel with the Next Step Course for doctors. Now your entire team can get exceptional ortho training at the same time.

 

Topics covered in Empowered Advanced:

  • Understanding and placing the MDA (Multidistalizing Appliance)

  • Understanding and Placing the NPE (Nitanium Palatal Expander)

  • Understanding and Placement of the “Big Daddy” a buccal expansion alternative

  • Understanding accentuated curve in rectangular arch wires and inderstanding the concept of buccal root torque

  • Understanding the concept of full intercuspation of the premolars, cross arch elastics and learning how to prepare a simple sectional arch wire

  • Learning how to “basket weave” the teeth together with long ligatures for anchorage

  • Retention and standard of care final records

  • Understanding how to maximize the patient’s insurance benefits

  • Wise scheduling and profitably

  • How to get paid for your orthodontics

  • Really understand the business side of ortho

Friday – Lecture and hand’s on exercises on typodonts

Saturday – Lecture and hans on exercises on typodonts

Sunday – Case review with the doctors
