• This course is ideally structured for the general or pediatric dentist who has no orthodontic training other than dental school.
• This program provides the participant practical, predictable and systematic orthodontic mechanics to treat 80% of malocclusions that are presented to your practice.
• The course will teach you case election, proper diagnosis, orthodontic records, non-extraction treatment mechanics, and case finishing.
Dr. Schmidbauer’s course is presented by the American Orthodontic Society, along with a year-round program of ADA and AGD-recognized courses for the practitioner and auxiliary.
Why is this the One Orthodontic Program You Can’t Afford to Miss?
You may have asked yourself this question and wondered if this is the right course for you. Absolutely! This course will teach you what you should have been taught in dental school. Orthodontics is not complicated or difficult, but you have to be trained. Just as you have learned a technique for every other aspect of dentistry, Dr. Schmidbauer’s method of teaching orthodontics will also provide you with a predictable technique. Each session builds on information, presented in the same sequence you will encounter in treatment delivery. When you have completed this course, you will have the knowledge, skill and confidence to complete 80% of the malocclusions that come into your office.
Will I have the opportunity to have my cases reviewed for diagnosis, treatment planning and trouble shooting?
Yes! Every Sunday of the extended program is devoted to case diagnosis. Utilizing video photography and large screen projection, each participant has the opportunity to present cases. No more looking over shoulders and trying to catch a peek of what is being taught. All records - radiographs, models, photographs and health history - are viewed by all participants in a formal classroom setting. This type of presentation allows each participant to view and diagnose 75 - 100 cases each session.
How will I get help with cases that I have in treatment?
Participants are allowed to repeat this course the following year as a monitor at no charge. This additional year gives you 15 more days of instruction and also gives you sufficient time to start and finish cases under direct supervision.
Learn which cases to treat and which to refer.
Each and every procedure is supported with a detailed slide sequence, patient cases demonstrating the technique and a video demonstration of the clinical project. Participants will receive individual assistance in completing the hands-on projects during each session.
