Course Summary

The American Orthodontic Society Awards and Credentialing Program is an outstanding way to increase your orthodontic skills, build your patient base and gain prestige among your colleagues. To help you advance from Achievement to Fellowship to Diplomate we have added a two-day educational course designed for all levels. The objective is to provide a didactic background for the practice of orthodontics as well as providing the most recent scientific knowledge base. This course will be of great assistance in preparing for the Fellowship written examination.

The course focuses on treatment mechanics, bio-mechanics, diagnosis, growth and development, retention, and TMJ/TMD. It will be taught by experienced Diplomates of the AOS including Drs. Chris Baker, Ed Gonzalez, David Jackson, Joseph Schmidbauer, and William E. Wyatt Sr.

Speakers

Dr. Jackson is a former president of both the AOS and the International Association for Orthodontics, Senior Instructor for both organizations and Board Examiner for the AOS.

Dr. Gonzalez is a former AOS president, Board Examiner, and maintains one of the largest pediatric practices in central Florida.

Currently Dr. Baker is president-elect of the AOS, Board Examiner and Senior Instructor. She maintains a pediatric practice in Lexington, KY, and lectures at the University of Louisville School of Dental Medicine

Dr. Schmidbauer is a former AOS president, Senior Instructor and Board Examiner who maintains a general practice in Oregon, OH.

Dr. Wyatt is one of the true pioneers in GP orthodontics, having limited his practice to orthodontics since 1970. Recently nominated as one of Texas. Outstanding Dentists by the Texas AGD, he has twice received the Cooley Award, presented by the Texas State Dental Society for his outstanding contribution to preventative orthodontics.

Schedule

Registration is at 8:00 am and the courses start at 8:30 am.

Recognition

The American Orthodontic Society is an ADA CERP recognized provider. A total of 14 hours will be granted for this course. All continuing education units earned through the AOS are accepted by the AGD for FAGD/MAGD programs.
