Recognition Awards

Over the past 25 years the AOS has provided a peer review process designed to recognize the orthodontic proficiency of our members. Designed to foster excellence in your practice, these awards consist of a logical progression of requirements beginning with Achievement, then Fellowship and finally culminating with Diplomate.

In 1995, AOS created a tax-exempt, charitable corporation to advance public health. To that end, the AOS Foundation sponsors an annual, free conference for dental professionals. AOS also developed Smile Builders, a program coordinating the charitable efforts of both dentists and dental suppliers. We work with dental companies and labs to donate their materials when you donate your time to treat needy patients.

Beginning in 1999 the Foundation also sponsors an annual academic scholarship named to honor Dr. Robert G. Gerety. This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving dental student who has exhibited a sustained interest and superior performance in orthodontics.
